Investing in Our Village
Our Village became a Cooperative Corporation in 1991 and issued 522 shares in the Corporation. The cost of each share was arrived at by dividing the original cost of the Village by the potential maximum number of homes chartered by the town of Carver, 522 homes sites. The monies received were used to purchase the Village from the original owners. Our by-laws prohibit the purchase of a home in South Meadow Village without the purchase of a share in the Corporation. Therefore, when an individual decides to sell his home in the Village, this homeowner must sell his share to the new buyer. This results in a new share being issued to the new buyer and the cancellation of the old share. The current price of a share is valued $33,500.00.
Your share entitles you to all benefits of our self-sufficient community:
Our own water
supply and sewerage system
Maintenance of all common areas
Storage area for trailers and boats
Snow removal on all roadways and cluster circles
Full use of the clubhouse, swimming pool, bocce court, horse shoe and shuffle board areas
Expanded basic cable service including our own Digital 918 for Village notices.
The share is an investment in the property, structure and the future of South Meadow Village and entitles you to a "voice" in all decisions of the board.
It is through the diligent efforts of our involved residents that South Meadow Village
is maintained properly while keeping our monthly maintenance fee low at $340.00
